To ensure that all conference attendees are able to enjoy meals that fit their individual needs, NERFA 2022 has moved to a dining structure that allows for flexibility and personal choice. Patrons will have the opportunity to choose from a number of dining options both in and surrounding the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel.

On-site dining establishments are the Gastropub and Pizzaria. A list of establishments surrounding the hotel can be found here. The list will be updated with new restaurants and potential discounts as the conference date approaches.

There is also a Super Supermarket one mile away from the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel. Visit their website here for more information and address/phone listings.

City parking in close proximity to the hotel is available for conference attendees. The city of Asbury Park has a parking app that allows for virtual parking payment, eliminating the need to physically renew the parking meter when time expires. The parking app can be found here. For more information regarding parking, please visit the City of Asbury Park website.

The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel offers valet service and limited on-site parking. The hotel rate for on-site parking is $45/Night for Sedans and $65/Night for SUVs.

NERFA holds no responsibility for any property lost, damaged, or stolen related to on-site or off-site parking.

Registered service animals are the only animals allowed on the premise for NERFA 2022 Conference attendees.

Panels will take place in-person but simulcast and recorded for virtual attendees. More information regarding panel topics and panelists will be released at a future date.

Peer groups will be held in-person, with a separate set of peer groups being held online for virtual attendees. A full list of peer group topics will be released at a future date.

There will be three keynote speeches over the course of the conference. These will be held in-person, as well as streamed virtually. Keynote speakers will be announced as programming is finalized.

Showcases & Open Mics

The Stone Pony will be hosting the Formal Showcases. The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel will be the site for the DJ Showcase on Thursday evening with the Hotel’s Gastropub serving as an open mic performance space over the course of the conference. Additional specialty showcase opportunities will be announced as their details are finalized.

All ticket holders can submit for an official showcase performance slot. There is no additional fee for showcase applications following registering for the conference. Upon purchasing the standard in person or virtual ticket, you will gain access to the official showcase application link when it is made available.

We are finalizing the details of the on-site Guerrilla Showcases. We do know that NERFA will be offering three nights to host Guerrilla showcases in-person & virtually. The hosting fee is per night and includes placement in the NERFA program book, website, as well as social media mentions. This fee does not include a ticket to the conference. You must be registered for the conference to host a Guerilla Showcase. Each night is limited to 10 in person and 20 virtual Showcase rooms, first come – first served. All Showcases start at 10pm Eastern Time. Guerrilla showcase hosting tickets will be offered at a future date.

Those that require assistance with conference expenses can apply for a virtual or in-person scholarship. You can apply for a conference scholarship here.

Cancelation Policy

All pre-registrations are open to cancellation by the purchaser until August 1, 2022 for a full refund within 14 days. After August 1, 2022 registration cancellations will go towards registration for NERFA 2023 credit. Registration cancellations post November 1 will not be processed until December 2022.

The NERFA Administration team will be actively reviewing current public policy associated with the COVID-19 spread and outbreaks. We are consulting with the Philadelphia Contagious Diseases Team, and Mass General Hospital team, and will be regularly reviewing the CDC Guidelines. If *at any time* the guidelines indicate that an in-person event couldn’t be run in a safe manner, we may have to cancel or postpone the conference which would lead to refunds and/or a credit for attendees. Either opportunity would be open to attendees.
