Volunteer at the NERFA 2026 Conference
The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference is powered by community.
Every showcase, mentoring circle, hallway jam, registration check-in, and late-night conversation happens because volunteers step forward and say yes.
If you believe in folk music, in artists supporting artists, and in building a stronger regional network of performers, venues, and booking agents, we invite you to be part of the team.
Because we are truly Stronger Together.
Why Volunteer
Volunteering at NERFA is more than helping with logistics. It is an opportunity to:
- Connect directly with artists, venues, and industry professionals
- Build relationships that last far beyond the weekend
- Support the growth of the folk music community
- Gain behind-the-scenes insight into how the conference runs
- Contribute to an event that supports emerging and established artists alike
- Whether this is your first conference or your tenth, volunteering is one of the fastest ways to feel at home at NERFA.
Volunteer Benefits & Commitments
To ensure we can fully support the conference experience, volunteers must:
- Commit to working a minimum of 8 hours during the conference
- Be available for at least two full days between November 12–14, 2026
In exchange for this commitment, volunteers who complete their required hours will receive a complimentary conference registration.
Volunteers are scheduled in advance so you can balance your service with time to attend showcases, mentoring sessions, and networking opportunities.
Please note: Submitting a Volunteer Interest Form does not guarantee selection. Volunteer spots are limited and assignments are based on conference needs and availability.
Volunteer Roles May Include:
- Room monitoring and timekeeping for showcases
- Stage or green room support
- Information desk assistance
- Mentor session coordination
- General hospitality support
No matter the role, every volunteer plays an essential part in creating a welcoming, professional, and community-focused experience.
What to Expect
- Clear training and instructions prior to your shift
- A supportive and collaborative team environment
- Pre-scheduled shifts so you can still participate in conference programming
